Hey again! I just wanted to send an update about the summer. The names of the girls going on this trip with me are: Danette Frazier, Corinne Bird, Erin Miller, Beth Hollaway, and Ruth Fung. I hope this will help those praying with me to pray more specifically for the team of girls.
Over the past couple of weeks God has really been testing me in different ways. Through this, I know that He is ultimately preparing me for His works which excites me and makes me grateful that I serve a God that hears our prayers. Without a little bit of struggle how do you truly grow and learn in the Lord? Thank you for your prayers thus far and for the support you have all given me.
When I signed up for Thailand as my first choice I was definitely unsure and scared, but I also knew that if God didn't want me to be there I would have been placed somewhere else. The first couple of days after learning about my placement were filled with fearfulness. My family was afraid for me and it is such an unknown for me that I really doubted me placement. But a verse from the book of Job continually surfaced in my thoughts. "Though he slay me, yet I will hope in him; I will surely defend my ways to his face. Indeed, this will turn out for my deliverance, for no godless man would dare come before him!" (Job 13:15-16). As I thought on those words for a while I felt an overwhelming peace about this summer. I have nothing to fear in Christ Jesus because my life is not my own anyway. I am trusting in Him and He will lead me completely. "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain." (Philippians 1:21). These few verses talk about death and while I doubt I will be facing anything as serious as that, they have given me strength in knowing that Christ is in control. I know that no matter what persecution or hardship surfaces I will be strong in Christ Jesus. I have nothing to fear because fear is not of the Lord. Thank you again for your prayers and support, they are appreciated more than I can express.
