I have created this blog as a way to share my struggles and joys with all interested about my summer in Thailand. Clearly I'm not on my way to the airport yet, but I am already getting excited about it. This summer I am being sent to Thailand to minister to and to teach English to Thai students in the city of Mahasarakham, Thailand. I will be one of six girls going to live among the Isaan people in the Northeastern region of Thailand. I will be leaving at the end of May and returning at the beginning of August and I am nervous and incredibly excited at the same time.
God has been doing a lot in my life over the past few years and He has been leading me on a path that is meant to completely glorify Him with my life and I can do nothing but submit to His will. I am preparing even now for my adventure this summer and a lot of that preparation involves prayer and diving into scripture. I ask anyone who is reading this to pray with me for my heart to be open and willing this summer and mainly for the people we are going to be reaching out to. My biggest prayer is that they would begin to open their hearts to the word even now. I hope that they will be receptive and eager to hear God's word and that we will be able to clearly and accurately share it with them as well as live it out before their eyes. I pray that we, as a team of girls, will be willing and ready to place the needs of the Thai people above our own and that our hearts will be overflowing with love for them and hope for their salvation.
The biggest way that you can support me is through prayer and the team and I will need a lot of it. I am so thankful for an opportunity as wonderful as this and for the support I am receiving in order to go completely for free. God has blessed me so incredibly much and I am desiring to carryout His will to the best of my ability. He has showered me with love and I pray that I can do the same to the people of Thailand. Thank you in advance for your prayers and support for this summer! ;) Here is a link to the website of the missionaries that are going to be our supervisors this summer, it gives a lot of information about the Isaan people and the ministry in Thailand.
